A Thank You from your Fur-Friends.
We here at the shelter struggle everyday to try and find homes for the animals here, that is our ultimate goal. We also want to be sure that while the animals are here they are well cared for. We strive to find enough enrichment and activity for them so that while they wait here for their new family they don’t develop behavior issues. This can be difficult and we rely heavily on our volunteers to help us for this. One of the primary jobs here as a Humane Society of Southern Illinois volunteer is to help us socialize the animals and provide enough interaction with them that they are at least somewhat satisfied (they all would prefer to have a family to spend their evenings with as you could imagine). As any one who has frequented our cat or dog rooms knows they very much want your attention when you are in sight. From the barking and jumping to the meows and little arms reaching out trying to grab you hooking your shirt you as you walk by, they let you know they really want to spend some time with you. Lately we have lots of volunteers and we would like to speak for the animals for a moment and say thank you for your time and thank you for your support. The animals here are so much happier because you have come to visit. You make their days here just that much better and keep them just that much happier.
