Volunteering is a great way to help out and to get your fix if you aren’t able to have your own fur-baby right now. We are always on the look out for more people to come in and help exercise and socialize the animals that are here looking for their forever home. We also have special events that we can’t do without the help of volunteers.
The animals here are grateful for every moment that they get to have interaction. Since there is only about 6 staff and dozens of them it is hard for us to give them all the love and attention that they need. All of the animals here are social creatures and without regular interaction start to develop behavior issues and extreme anxiety/depression.
Having the chance to get out and away from the shelter is extremely helpful when it comes to helping keep the dogs happy. Just like us we get tired of seeing the same yard everyday and having a chance to go to an event or PetCo on the weekend really helps keep them in good spirits and socialized.
So if you are ready to help us help the homeless animals then please fill out a volunteer application and review our Volunteer guidelines. Once you have done that then please call during our open hours at 618-457-2367 to sign up for orientation. You can also contact us if you have any questions.
