Our sweet Kitty Poppins is in need of medical attention for diagnostic & treatment.
Update:
Kitty Poppins is currently on oxygen at Lakeside Veterinary Hospital in Carbondale. She is currently awaiting an ultrasound to help find the cause of her labored breathing.
Update 2:
Kitty Poppins was Fantastic for her ultrasound! The vets at Lakeside said she took her inhaleted antibiotics like a champ but are still concerned about her heart and lungs. They are running bloodwork and are going to keep Kitty overnight so she can stay on oxygen if need.
Update on Kitty Poppins (7-10-19):
Kitty is doing great! The vets say she is looking like a different cat this morning. (Active and alert) No heart disease/issues!
The diagnosis is that she will be an “airway” cat – asthma most likely. She is being started on steroids but was cleared to return to the shelter for recovery.
Thank you to everyone who has shared and donated towards Kitty! We have raised almost $200 dollars to cover her medical expenses.
Her total hospital bill was $730 – just $530 to go!
